Makati at Noon

Completed in 1995, the Legazpi Street underpass is the first in the network of pedestrian walkways that traverse the Makati central business district. Walking the streets and walkways of Makati during a surge felt like visiting your school campus during a summer vacation. You hear the steps and the shouts, but you see no one. White-collared ghosts pass through me as I walk the tiled concrete.

Modern caves both liminal and sterile, Makati underpasses are the complete opposite of those in the city of Manila.
